About me

Welcome! My name is Antonella and I live in Lucca, within the city’s Renaissance walls.

I graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Bari (and I am currently enrolled at the University of Pisa… longlife learning!). I have travelled extensively, working as a Tour Leader all over the world. About thirty years ago, I chose to live in Lucca, a city that is close to my heart and to which I am also tied by family origins.

In 2008, I obtained my qualification as a tour guide and I work mainly in Lucca and Pisa and their districts.

I also obtained the qualification as “Disability Manager” at the Università Cattolica in Milano and a degree in “Accessible Tourism” at the Omero Museum in Ancona; I am qualified as a “Senior Technician for the organization and marketing of integrated tourism”. I have attended (and continue to attend!) various refresher courses on accessibility and inclusion to ensure that my tours are truly for everyone.

I have extensive experience as a tour guide and am very passionate and knowledgeable about Lucca and Pisa, two wonderful Tuscan cities.

I am not a driver! I can accompany you in your vehicle or organize tours with a private car and driver.

I speak Italian, English, and Spanish.

A guide to Lucca (but not only Lucca…)

The guides of Lucca, like myself, are duly qualified in accordance with current Italian laws and invest time and resources in updating and training to satisfy every curiosity, to create itineraries that are always current and intriguing, and to build a personalized relationship with clients.

My goal is to understand the client’s needs in order to best manage hospitality and welcome in the area by creating original, stimulating, personalized, inclusive, and accessible itineraries. I am a professional cultural mediator for quality tourism and for the enhancement of the historical and artistic heritage of Lucca, Pisa, and their provinces.

Depending on the itinerary you wish to follow, time you have, or your specific interests, I will be able to tailor my services to your needs to make your tourist experience unforgettable and complete.

Guaranteeing attention to customers, families, and children, working toward sustainability and minimizing environmental impact, including by promoting the use of bicycles, trains, and public transportation: this is what I propose to do. I will also recommend traditional local foods that are in season, locally sourced, accessible to all, and prepared by restaurateurs who are attentive to quality, service, and common food intolerances.

The Disability Manager:

is an innovative professional role provided for in the White Paper on Welfare, whose task is to gather the requests of citizens with disabilities and their families, to activate the networking of all the bodies and individuals involved, to convey the needs of people with disabilities to existing services, to implement all measures aimed at promoting accessibility, urban planning and beyond, and to avoid all forms of discrimination.
